Raising Awareness of Hazardous Waist
Irrespective of your height or build, if your waistline is getting bigger it could mean you are at increased risk of developing a chronic disease such as some cancers, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. Unhealthy eating and not enough physical activity can be important contributors to an increasing waistline.

The Measure Up campaign is part of the Australian Better Health Initiative (ABHI), a national program, supported by the Australian and state and territory governments, which aims to reduce the risk factors for chronic disease such as some cancers, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. In NSW the Measure Up campaign is complimented by the NSW Department of Health's new Health advisory service, Get Healthy.

Measure Up 4 Cycling |

The Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Service is supporting the Measure Up campaign during 2010 by offering free Measure Up 4 Cycling Workshops. |
|

The courses are delivered by an accredited AustCycle Teacher and are pitched at a beginner – intermediate level. Course content covers bike safety principles, bike handling skills, road safety skills, traffic awareness, basic bike maintenance and repair. Riders participate in a range of cycling skill sessions in an off-road environment.
