Fundamental Movement Skills - The Department of Education and Training's Curriculum Support Unit has put components of it's 'Get Skilled, Get Active' resource on line.
Fantastic games resource - The Active After School program of the Australian Government has fabulous Playing for Life Resources. The full kit ($109) includes a massive selection of activity cards on cooperative play, wild card, invasion, striking/fielding, net/court and target games in the categories of easy, medium and hard. There is also a CD ROM of all of the activities which can be purchased separately for just $10. Order from Australian Sports Commission publications. Type 'Playing for Life' into the search box.

Great Daily Physical Activity Resources from around the world - 2 stand out websites for daily physical activity resources are from Alberta Canada and from New Zealand. Both sites offer free downloads of 100's of activity ideas as well as organisational guidelines. The Canadian site also has an associated comprehensive healthy schools site called Healthy U and the New Zealand site offers a free downloadable Fundamental Movement Skills resource. |

Healthy Lunchbox Resources - Check out a great on-line interactive activity from Vic Health. How about some homework that covers some computer skills as well as nutrition understanding?..Get your students to log on to the Vic Health site, create a healthy lunch, choose the option to email it to themselves, print it out and bring in for homework. There are also other great lunchbox resources in the Q4 Live Outside the Box section of the healthpromotion.com.au site.

Other very useful websites Australian Health Promoting Schools Association Crunch and Sip - School fruit, vegie and water breaks Young Media - Too much TV and computer time interferes with important time for real world learning and being physically active. Go to this site for great fact sheets on media issues for kids and their families (very suitable for newsletter inserts). The site has other useful bits like film reviews with recommendations for different age groups based on solid child development theory.
