How
does your workplace measure up?
The Active
Healthy Workplace (AHW) initiative is designed to raise
understanding amongst employers/management & employees;
of how likely it is that the workplace environment contributes
to the overweight and obesity pandemic.
This initiative extends previous overweight and obesity
strategies from individuals to the environments in which
people live, work and play.
Given adults spend a large percentage of their time at
work it makes sense to target the workplace setting.
Does the workplace provide a supportive environment for
employees to lead active, healthy working lives?
So, ‘how does your workplace measure up?’ To find out,
take a moment to try out the Active Healthy Workplace “checklist”.
We
have links to relevant websites which offer examples
of other healthy workplace initiatives & useful
resources which include policy documents and workplace
design guidelines.
This is an initiative of the Northern Sydney Central
Coast Health Promotion Service.
